Animating your final portrait using a loop block to repeat movement
In the Mindstorms application...
- Follow the steps from the Start page to the Two Motors page to set up your motors, direction, degrees or rotation, and power.
- Use the common palette on the left side of the screen to find Loop.
- Drag and drop the loop block to the space just to left of the desired move block.
- Drag and drop the move block inside the loop block. The loop block will expand as you hover over it with the move block.
- Repeat this process for the move blocks you want running continuously.
- Attach the USB cord to the NXT brick and your computer.
- Press the brick's orange button to turn it on. You should see My Files on the brick's screen.
- Locate the Download arrow in the bottom right control panel of the Mindstorms application.
Note: Choose the download arrow, not the other run or download options, unless you want your portrait to begin moving immediately.
- Press the orange button again, and you should see Software Files.
- Press the orange button again, and you should see the program names. If you have more than one program loaded to the robot, use the right and left arrows to locate the desired program.
- Once you see the desired program on the screen, press the orange button twice to run the program.
- Show off your animated portrait!
- Press the gray button below the orange button to stop the programmed animation.
